The MAS Global FinTech Hackcelerator seeks to identify and recognise ground-breaking solutions that can enable the financial sector to respond to the existential challenge of our time - climate change. The Global FinTech Hackcelerator is open to all start-ups with a market-ready product. Winners will walk away with a total cash prize of S$150,000, and the chance to conduct a Proof-of-Concept with a Singapore-based Financial Institution with up to S$200,000 from MAS' FSTI Proof-of-Concept grant.

This year’s Global FinTech Hackcelerator focuses on Green Finance and the role of Green FinTechs in the ecosystem.

Problem Statements

These problem statements focus on three key pillars of Green Finance:

(A) Mobilise Capital
Increase access to capital for Green projects or solutions

(B) Monitor Commitment
Enhance Investor and Financial Institution ease of monitoring sustainability commitments from issuers

(C) Measure Impact
Improve ability to measure impact of loans and investments against their stated sustainability goals

Problem Statement #01

How might market participants ensure that businesses continue to progress in their overall sustainability performance and not focused only on the agreed KPI?

Problem Statement #02

How can we build a solution within the Green Real Estate industry that will ring-fence capital allocated to the project for further on-lend or matching to downstream sub-contractors and suppliers who will need funding throughout the course of the project?

Given the increased interest in passive investments, how might we build a robo-advisor that focuses on optimising a portfolio for superior risk-adjusted returns ESG-equities, bonds, and indices?

How might we utilise a platform that enables investors and retail consumers to make sustainability considerations either in their respective (i) personal consumption or (ii) investment decision- making process and/ SDG investment portfolio building?

We welcome all FinTech companies with a market-ready solution that can solve any of the problem statements to apply for the Global FinTech Hackcelerator.

What are the benefits of joining the Global FinTech Hackcelerator?

Finalists will receive a S$20,000 cash stipend, free access to APIX, a cloud-based sandbox environment for rapid prototyping, mentorship by industry experts, access to potential clients and investments and the chance to win 1 of 3 cash prizes worth S$50,000.

Can my company submit more than 1 proposal to different problem statements?

Yes, you may submit more than 1 proposal. However, each proposal should answer a different problem statement.

What is the judging process?

There will be 2 rounds of judging. The first round will select up to 15 finalists, and the second round will select up to 3 winners.

Who are the corporate champions?

The corporate champions are the contributors of the problem statements or industry experts who will work together with you during the virtual programme to help contextualize your solution better to the industry or their organisation.
